It’s an all time low in the EU commission this week where they fined Microsoft for not sharing its codes with competitors, is it just me or is something wrong? The EU commission apparently forgot we’re in a ‘free market’ society. The fact the commission think they can just take the foundation of a business made by an entrepreneur, based on high risk basis, which lead to a technological change in our society astounds me. The business environment is difficult; it’s a monopoly, there are barriers to entry, there is branding and there is a dominant brand, don’t play with fire if your burned afraid of being burned is my advice. I may not be a fan of Microsoft’s tactics but the commission’s picking hairs and is starting to test the boundaries of its powers. Well done to Microsoft for defending its own technology, if you want it make it yourself, If you want to make programmes based around their technology then it should be by their discretion whether you can or can’t.
I guess sometimes business is business, and getting fine is just an expense.
